These stories are all-to-real, and yet we don't talk enough about how common it is for those who took a gap year to defer college, went to college and took a break, or those who struggled launching into the workforce post-college graduation. This goes out to all the young adults and parents of young adults who are struggling and contemplating what will happen if they walk away right now.

For the entire month of May, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Joanna is bringing you a special parent series, where she interviews parents whose children have overcome a variety of mental health challenges. When the oldest of four children is struggling with their mental health, it can cause tremendous disruption in the home, especially for younger siblings. That was the case in the home of Sara Beth and her family when her oldest son’s struggles from childhood came forth with vengeance in the teen years. What started as a moderately disruptive tourettes diagnosis at age six, evolved into rage, destruction of property and difficulty in school. Desperate to help her son, Sara Beth left no stone unturned. On today’s episode of Success is Subjective, she openly shares the challenges their family has faced, along with her greatest resources that have brought them hope and healing.
